When it comes to having a home printer there are several factors you should take into mind. Think about what types of thing you might be printing. Will I mostly be papers or will you be using it to print pictures? Will you need your home printer to scan and copy? Do you need your printer to be wireless so it can be use for more than one computer or laptop?
When it comes to any printer these days it better have wireless capability. This will make your setup and home use much easier. Less cords equals less mess. Plus it will be able to print for multiple devices throughout your home just as long as both devices are on the same wireless network. Also consider the typical use your printer might be used for. You may want a printer that can print documents rather quickly as well. Like a printer 30 ppm (pages per minute).
If you need to scan old pictures or important documents on to your home computer make sure you computer has the ability to do so. Same thing goes for making copies of pictures, papers, or important documents (like a birth certificate or photo ID). Here are some printers I recommend for your household:
- WorkForce 30 Inkjet Printer
- Kodak ESP 3 Multifunction Photo Printer
- Oki Data Color LED Printer
- Canon Pixma MX372 All-in-One Office Inkjet Printer
One small detail you should take into account for your printer that can make a huge difference in long term cost is what type of ink your printer requires. Some printers only require a black ink cartridge and a color ink cartridge, while others require black ink cartridge and several individual color cartridges. You will also want to consider where you can purchase your spare ink cartridges and how much they will cost. For example, a HP officejet 6110 ink cartridge can be found both online and in stores both for very good prices. While other ink cartridges have to be purchased straight through the manufactures website.
Having a good reliable printer can help you avoid a big stressful mess for when you need something printed. So look into giving your home printer an upgrade.
