In U.S. the lawyer is greatly in demand and the law profession is considered as one of the most prestigious position in U.S. Today, the legal professionals in U.S. earn lump sum amount even compared to the other professionals. The law student should actually pass many examinations before entering into the law field.
He should usually attain a law degree that is recognized by the American Bar Association. Before attaining a law degree he should complete his graduation in science, arts, commerce or business administration etc. He should obtain a graduate degree from any recognized institution beforehand. In order to seek admission in a reputed institute for studying law, he should pass a Law School Admission Test known as L.S.A.T. Usually he should at least secure B+ grade to secure admission in a reputed institute. He should compulsorily attend the 3-hour test. Then he can decide the area of specialization or the major subject that is to be chosen by him depending upon his skills and aim. In U.S. he can specialize in any of the related fields such as civil law, criminal law, family law, aviation law, airplane or marine law, trademark law, intellectual property rights law, immigration law, and many other fields because every branch in law is in demand today.
He can decide the area of law specialization before applying for an undergraduate degree, because he can study the related subject during his graduation study itself. If he wants to specialize in child custody or family laws, then he should preferably choose arts or humanities as his specialized subject when he is studying graduation. Then when he enters Law College, he can choose family law as his major subject and hence specialize in the related area.
The immigration law is greatly in demand in U.S. today many people from the other parts of the world are migrating to states and the laws have become very complicated. In U.S., if a student completes master?s degree after his Juris degree, then he can find several opportunities. Usually in U.S. after completing master?s degree, a law student applies for internship program for 3 to 5 years to gain experience in the related field. He may apply for internship for a law firm or governmental agencies depending upon his subject of specialization. The lawyer should obtain license before being admitted by the Bar. When the lawyer is admitted by the Bar, he can either commence his independent practice. If he has completed his degree in health and safety law, then he can complete his internship in most of the medical governmental organizations.
In u.s the lawyer can secure for a job in various spheres such as legal firms, corporate, trademark office, governmental agencies, legal bodies, policy making, legal research organizations, academic institutions etc. He can also become an established lawyer if he is well-versed with the legal matters. The scope and demand for legal profession depends upon the location also. For eg. In xx state, civil lawyers may be greatly in demand and in yyy state, criminal lawyers may be greatly in demand.
